This online training course enables learners to understand the consequences of data breaches and the best practice to follow when handling personal data. The course explores the causes of data breaches and enables learners to understand how information should be processed and stored.
This immersive learning course is presented in a highly gamified format. It is designed to help organisations avoid penalties from data breaches and maintaining a strong reputation and customer trust. Organisations are required to meet legal and regulatory requirements such as Data Protection, Personal Information Protection and Data Privacy Acts. The most robust guidance for safeguarding personal data is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which forms the basis of this course.
The course is structured as an interactive TV series where learners look at how personal data is handled in various organisations. In each episode, there are examples of good and bad practice. Learners have the chance to interact with the episodes and answer questions about data protection. For every correct answer, learners earn a badge at the end of the episode. There are four badges to collect in total. In the series finale, learners take the Protecting Data Challenge and have to answer eight questions correctly. Learners can also take the assessment again to improve their score.

Why Data Protection Training is Important
Data breaches can cause a lot of problems for organisations, including loss of reputation and massive fines for non-compliance with data protection laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It is therefore important that organisations take steps to keep the information they store about customers and partners safe from unauthorised access. Without proper measures and awareness training in place for all employees, it's easy for members of staff to make mistakes and accidentally cause or allow a data breach.
