Most countries have laws which provide protection against discrimination. Unlawful discrimination is unfair or unequal treatment of a person or a group of people because of certain ‘protected characteristics’. This section looks at some examples of discrimination and influences on our behaviour that can lead to discrimination in the workplace.
Harassment is defined as behaviour seen as offensive by the recipient and includes unwanted conduct, creating an intimidating environment or violating a person’s dignity. This section explores what is considered as harassment, scenarios that show how it can affect individuals and organisational culture and how to raise concerns.
Learners are tested on their knowledge throughout the course with short quizzes and feedback on the answers. After completing the two main modules, learners must take an assessment test and answer 80% of the questions correctly to complete the course. Learners can also take the assessment again to improve their score.
