The Assessment

During the course, learners will encounter employees in situations that question their conduct and the right thing to do. The challenge is to make the right ethical decisions and avoid breaching the Code of Conduct.

For every right decision, learners collect a 'Right way' reward. For every wrong decision, learners see a 'Wrong way' sign which indicates that they have breached or violated our Code of Conduct and lost a reward.

Learners must collect at least 12 rewards to successfully complete the course and prove that they can work ethically.

What is meant by code of conduct?
A Code of Conduct is rules and policy agreed by a business to set the expectations on staff behaviour. The code sets the standards that the businesses expect from their employees so that they are aware of what is expected of them to produce an efficiently working, ethical business. Having a code of conduct can make it clear what behaviours and actions are acceptable within the business.
Why is a code of conduct important?
All organisations, irrespective of type or size, should aim to have a code of conduct. A code of conduct serves as a set of internal guidelines for the employees to follow and acts as an external statement of corporate values and commitments. A well-written code of conduct clarifies an organisation's values and principles, linking them with standards of professional conduct when it comes to the behaviour of the employees.
Who does a Code of Conduct apply to?
A code of conduct is created by the employer to enable their workforce to know and understand what is expected of them in terms of behaviour in the workplace. Therefore, a code of conduct is applicable to all employees within an organisation to create a compliant and efficient workforce. A code of conduct reflects an organisation's daily operations, their core values and overall company culture.
