Whether it’s in a home office, a working hub or even on a train, remote working can be very beneficial. It can offer greater flexibility and eliminate commuting. However, it can also bring new challenges.

Our Remote Working eLearning course enables employees and employers alike to make sure all workers are safe and healthy – wherever they choose to do their jobs.

Microlearning Courses

Our Microlearning Courses

Drug and Alcohol Awareness

Drug and Alcohol abuse are two of the most common forms of addiction. One of the fundamental issues is that most people simply don’t recognise that they may have an issue with either, or both.

This eLearning course will help learners understand the early warning signs both in themselves and in order to look out for colleagues.

It will empower managers to be able to provide effective, meaningful support to employees who may be struggling.

Acknowledging an issue is a great place to start- but what then? How do people cut back on alcohol for example? And where can they go for help?

This course provides an ideal reference point in an accessible, user friendly format.

Healthy Lifestyle: Drink

Staying hydrated is important to our health and wellbeing. Water provides everything our bodies need to replenish the fluids it loses. However, there are many different beverages that we can drink. The question is, are we making the healthiest choices? By the end of this course, you will be able to understand how drinking the right things can contribute to a healthier lifestyle.

Healthy Lifestyle: Exercise

Exercise: some people love it, some people don’t, but it’s an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. Regular movement comes with a host of physical and mental health benefits, boosting our energy, moods and strength.

This course explores the importance of exercise to our wellbeing and the different options available for incorporating more movement into our daily lives.

Healthy Lifestyle: Food

A balanced and varied diet is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Consuming good quality food promotes good physical and mental health, boosting your mood and increasing your energy levels.

This course explores what you can do to make sure you’re getting the most from your diet.

Healthy Lifesyle: Sleep

We need the right amount of good quality sleep to live a healthy lifestyle. Missing out on good-quality sleep can make it difficult to focus and think clearly and can cause long-term health issues. By the end of this course, you understand how your body clock works, the benefits of sleep, and what you can do to ensure you get the best quality sleep.

Online Wellbeing

Our time online and time spent on social media is at an all time high- and looks set to increase. Barely a day goes by without a new app making headlines and social media usage has been ingrained into the fabric of all our lives- from children barely into their teens to the more ‘mature’ end of the age range.

What’s not increasing at a proportionate rate is guidance and advice on the effects of excessive consumption of online material- be it social media, gaming or any other content.

This course will help learners recognise and hopefully stop and think about the potential effects of their online usage on their mental health. Changing habits is always difficult but this course will help with that.

Online abuse is unfortunately also growing- it seems to take a high profile incident to bring it to the attention of the masses before it drifts out of consciousness again. However it isn’t going away, and whilst acknowledging that there is a number of ways in which it can be avoided and if experienced then the impacts can be minimised.

This course will show learners some of the way to do this…

Preventing the Spread of Infection

When infection strikes, it can spread rapidly and be very difficult to contain. Knowing the steps to take to avoid it spreading is vital.

Our Preventing the Spread of Infection short course covers the main things individuals can do to keep themselves, and the people around them, safe from infection. It explores good hygiene practices and puts them into realistic scenarios.

Recognising Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety and depression are the most common mental health problems encountered in the workplace. This course will explore what anxiety and depression are, the signs and red flags that may indicate you or your colleagues are suffering from anxiety or depression, and where to seek support. By the end of this course, you will be able to recognise the signs of anxiety and depression and know where to seek further help and guidance.

Resilience

Resilience is like emotional muscle memory. It enables us to manage challenges that arise in life. This course looks at examples of how resilience in the workplace affects the outcomes in various scenarios. Your challenge is to make decisions that recognise and support resilience in these scenarios. Your performance will be measured by gauges that reflect your emotional muscle strength.

Spotting Mental Health Red Flags

Everyone experiences mental health problems. In this course, you will explore what mental health is, some of the more common mental health conditions, and mental health at work. By the end of this course, you will be able to understand mental health in a workplace context.

Detailed Study Courses

  • Utilises what we would call a ‘traditional’ eLearning approach, meaning that learners are presented with the information then tested at the end

  • Information is presented in an interactive, engaging way

  • Longer, detailed courses

Carer Aware

Carers fulfil a vitally important role in society. All too often the work that they do hasn’t been recognised or valued as it should be. Our Carer Aware online training course has been designed to help change that: it provides everyone with the knowledge and understanding they need to identify and meet the needs of carers.

Developed in collaboration with the Health & Social Care team at Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, and fully revised and updated for the Care Act, Carer Aware is a practical, engaging and highly cost-effective online training resource that can be accessed by your staff whenever and wherever suits them.

Stress – Managing Personal Stress Challenge

Workplace stress is one of the greatest threats to workers’ health and safety. Good stress management is a vital skill, and there are techniques for handling it well. In this course, you’ll follow people in a variety of job roles as they experience work-related stress and help them to navigate it healthily.

As your monkey guide helps you through the course (because who hasn’t experienced the stress-induced “monkey mind”?), learn about the steps we can all take to manage our work-related stress.

Stress in Your Team Challenge

More than half a million workers in the UK are experiencing work-related stress. As it’s an occupational issue, managers and team leaders play a key role in addressing this crisis.

In this course, managers learn how to prevent stress in your teams, how to monitor it and what to do if it happens. The course explores individual and group risk assessments and other tools managers can use to manage stress in their teams.

Stress Management for Individuals

Work-related stress can lead to many health problems. It is one of the leading causes of absence from work and long-term sick leave for employees.

Our Managing Your Personal Stress online course explores what work-related stress is and how it is caused. Learners find out how to recognise the signs of stress and the steps they can take to reduce its impact on their lives.

Stress Management in Your Team

To ensure managers know how to identify and treat stress, our Managing Stress in your Team course is specially designed to help mitigate and control work-related stress risks.

This course will help managers recognise and manage work-related stress within their team. It explains how to conduct both individual and team stress risk assessments and how your behaviour as a manager affects your colleagues.

Supporting Mental Health at Work

Anyone can experience mental health difficulties at any stage of their life. Historically mental health has been something that many people don’t feel able to openly acknowledge or discuss, which means problems all too often don’t get resolved and only escalate.

Our Supporting Mental Health at Work online training course aims to change that. It gives staff a practical understanding of mental health and provides them with an action plan for improving their own mental health and wellbeing. Equally as importantly, though, it provides them with guidance on how they can help colleagues with their mental health and create an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.

Supporting Student Mental Health and Wellbeing

Anyone can experience mental health difficulties at any stage of their lives, but students are particularly susceptible: in fact, mental wellbeing among students has been estimated to be around half the level of non-students. What makes matters worse is that mental health has historically been something that many people, including students, don’t feel able to openly discuss.

Our Supporting Student Mental Health & Wellbeing elearning course aims to provide your staff with a practical understanding of mental health. It looks at how they can provide students with advice and support to help them overcome any difficulties they encounter.

Young Carer Aware

Despite the recent media focus on carers, a large and important group are all too often overlooked: young carers.

Developed in collaboration with Surrey County Council and Surrey Young Carers, our Young Carer Aware eLearning course provides everyone with a practical understanding of young carers and their needs. More importantly, though, it signposts all the sources of support that are available to help them enjoy a happy, fulfilling childhood.
