There are thousands of workplace fires every year. Fire can be devastating for businesses – not to mention highly dangerous for members of staff and visitors. It’s imperative that all members of the team understand both how to prevent fires and what course of action to take in the event of a fire breaking out.
Our Fire Safety Challenge delivers concise and comprehensive training to protect your employees against fire danger. During this course, you will take on the role of a team leader and it will be your job to make sure employees understand their fire safety duties.
Our Fire Safety Challenge course covers the following topics:
Our Fire Safety Challenge course covers the following topics:
What is the fire triangle? Which hazards most commonly lead to workplace fires and what control measures can you put in place to minimise risk? In this course, learners gain a thorough understanding of the factors that lead to fires and how to ensure fire safety at work. It also covers firefighting equipment and the role of fire wardens.
Can you spot the fire hazards in a standard workplace environment? Are there simple ways to change the environment to make sure it’s safe for workers and visitors? From damaged wiring to unsafe smoking areas, many offices are full of potential hazards. Our course teaches learners to recognise them and think about how they could be neutralised.
When fires break out, evacuating in a safe and orderly manner is vital. The role of the fire warden is an important responsibility. This course explores what a fire warden does and how they can effectively plan for evacuations, including producing personal emergency evacuation plans (PEEPs) for those who need them.
We can never predict when a fire might occur, so having a strong understanding of the actions to take and which order to perform them in is very important. The course covers the different kinds of fire extinguisher and when to use them. It also teaches learners what to do first when they notice a fire as the first response in these situations can be crucial.
Learners answer multiple-choice questions about fire safety procedures and equipment. They collect fire safety badges for each topic they successfully complete. Correct answers keep the risk-o-meter in the green; incorrect answers push the risk-o-meter further into the red. Collect all badges and keep the risk-o-meter in the green to pass the course!

Fire safety is everyone’s responsibility at work. Without proper fire safety training for employees, the risk of a fire starting and possibly injuring someone is greatly increased.
Under health and safety legislation, those responsible should carry out a fire risk assessment on the workplace and take measures to reduce the impact a fire could have. Safeguarding human life is the number one priority of all fire safety training, and that’s why organisations are required to provide information and training on their company’s fire safety policy to all their employees.
Fire safety tips include making sure electrical equipment is well-maintained, flammable substances are properly stored and all staff have received good quality fire safety training. With thousands of workplace fires taking place every year, regular fire safety training needs to be a top priority for employers.
We can be fire safe by ensuring everybody has received fire safety training and knows how to follow it in a practical sense. It is important to learn how to spot fire safety hazards in a workplace. Faulty electrical equipment is a contributor to workplace fires so appliances and wiring should be checked regularly.
There are different levels of fire depending on their severity and the damage caused. They can range from minor incidents causing only superficial damage through to serious blazes that endanger lives. Complacency must be avoided, however – small fires can quickly spread if they are not dealt with correctly.
Fire safety in the workplace is important because fire causes injuries, destroys property and can even kill. Ensuring a safe working environment through fire safety training ensures all workers can reduce, or even eliminate, workplace fire risks. They can also react quickly if a fire breaks out.
