Working at height is one of the riskiest tasks in the workplace and one which results in numerous injuries and fatalities. All employers are legally obliged to put measures in place to prevent accidents and more importantly to provide training for employees.
Working at height means any work (whether on, below, or above ground level) where there is a risk of falling, or where objects could fall and injure the workers below. Working at height training should be mandatory for all employees required to work, supervise, or even organise working at height and it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that this training is completed. The training will involve educating workers about how to complete a working at height risk assessment, how to use equipment safely for working at height, and how to reduce the risk of falls.
